Smite is a free-to-play MMORPG that features an open world sandbox filled with over 100 different hero characters, ranging from heroes of all ages to more powerful warriors.
With its latest expansion, the game is looking to get a little more ambitious.
The upcoming Superheroes update will introduce a brand new set of playable heroes that will be able to be customized for their respective roles and roles can also be changed, according to an update on the Smite website.
In addition to the new heroes, the next expansion will also add an ‘ultimate team’ of heroes to the game, the Smites official blog revealed.
This is where players can create their own character and customize their gameplay style.
The ultimate team will be added in early 2019, according the post.
The new heroes will be available in the ‘SuperHeroes’ expansion.
The update to the ‘Ultimate team’ features a roster of heroes that includes the iconic heroes of Superhero lore like Spider-Man, Hulk, Wolverine, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, The Hulk, Black Widow, and others.
These characters will be playable in the “Ultimate team” in a “very competitive” way, the team’s official blog added.
A lot of people will start playing the ‘ultimate teams’ at the start of the expansion.
These will allow players to “train their hero” in the game and “build their own team.”
Players will have to “purchase a hero that fits their play style” and then “build that team.”
The game will also have “customizable heroes” that players can “build” and “reward” for completing quests and in-game content.
For example, players can earn coins by killing enemies, earning experience points, and collecting loot.
“Customized heroes” can also earn XP and currency.
Players can purchase the “ultimate team” for $49.99 USD on Steam, and will be given access to the Superhero Heroes content after that.
The game is currently slated for a 2018 release.
The team also revealed a new “Hero’s Challenge” feature, which will allow for players to earn coins and experience points by completing challenges.
These challenges will be designed to reward players with rewards, such as “heroics” or “super heroes.”
Players can also “join a league” that allows players to participate in other “heroic challenges” in order to earn additional rewards.
A ‘Super Heroes’ player will need to have a certain amount of character slots in order for the “Super Heroes” mode to be unlocked.
Players will also need to be a member of a specific community to play, according a game update on Steam.
The “Ultimate Team” is currently in active development, but the developers aren’t ruling out a release date yet.
The developers plan to have the “super hero” content released on April 5, 2019, but aren’t currently giving a release window.
Smite is currently available on PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox One X.
