The NBA playoffs are underway and the New York Knicks are headed for the Eastern Conference finals.
The Knicks have won the past three games and will face the Brooklyn Nets in the finals if they make it to the NBA finals.
Here are five things to watch in the first round.
The New York City skyline The Knicks had a very nice win over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday.
They were down by 19 points in the third quarter when the Knicks offense started to look good.
They scored 22 points in that stretch and made their lead 23-18.
The offense was starting to come together and Carmelo Anthony made the highlight-reel jump shot with 4:39 remaining.
The score was 29-28 when the Nuggets made their first of two 3-pointers.
This is an amazing sign that the Knicks are getting back to the basics and getting back in rhythm with their offense.
The Nuggets were shooting 40 percent from the field in the second quarter, but it’s clear the offense is back to normal after a slow start.
They will look to run the offense down the stretch as they look to end the Knicks season.
CarmeloAnthony’s return to the court The Knicks were without Derrick Rose (knee) and Tyson Chandler (foot) for this game.
This was the first time that Carmelo was able to get on the court.
He sat out Saturday’s loss to the Detroit Pistons with a sore knee and is now out for the Knicks game.
The first-year NBA star said he’s been practicing hard but he didn’t say how long he was able for.
It’s a good sign that he is starting to feel his way back in the lineup.
What’s next for the New Jersey Nets?
The Nets won’t be the same team that beat the Knicks in the playoffs last season.
They’re going to have to bounce back from losing Kristaps Porzingis to the New Orleans Pelicans and having the likes of Brook Lopez and Jared Sullinger on the roster.
They need to get back to being a team that is capable of winning in the postseason.
They lost four games in a row in the conference finals.
If they can win the next three games, they could make the NBA playoffs.
Who should be the next NBA MVP?
The next MVP is a matter of when.
In the first two rounds of the playoffs, the MVP is awarded based on regular season statistics.
The MVP voting was held during the regular season and after the NBA Finals, so the MVP award will be based on performance during the playoffs.
This year, the voting was open to the public and it’s been decided that the NBA will not make changes to the voting system.
The next three MVPs are expected to be voted on by the league and the players association during the season.
Who’s in the running for the next MVP?
Carmelo Bryant, Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Kevin Love are all in the mix to win the award, but I think it’s going to be LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant who have the best shot at it.
Bryant will be 34 in October and has a career averages of 21.2 points, 11.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
Durant is 33 and has career averages the are 21.3 points, 10.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.1 blocks per game while James is 32 and has his best seasons as a pro as a 28-year-old.
Durant has had his moments in the Finals and he is in a good spot with a winning record against the Lakers.
Bryant is 29 and has been able to stay on the floor for stretches of games, but he hasn’t had a strong postseason.
Durant, James and Love are still considered locks to win it all.
